Helping to feed Mansfield’s homeless at winter time
Volunteers John Coxhead and Lynne Cooper hope the scheme will be able to continue for several years.
The homeless can now enjoy a hot meal on Sundays at the Sherwood Street Day Centre in Mansfield.

Hide AdLynne, who also volunteers at the Beacon Centre - a Christian-based outreach project of St John’s Church - says there is an issue with homelessness in the area.
She said that the Sunday project will allow people on the streets to get a hot meal in the colder months, reaching out to the most vulnerable people in our society.
The project takes place in Framework’s Sherwood Street Day Centre in Mansfield, 1.30-3pm each Sunday.
Co Coun Chris Winterton has continued to support the project and says that homelessness in Mansfield is an increasing problem.

Hide AdHe added: “We must pull together County and District resources to help tackle homelessness in the town.”
