Chad readers are being asked to help recognise and reward the best nurses and midwives in the Mansfield and Ashfield area.
For we have teamed up with Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Doundation Trust for their 2015 Nurse Of The Year Awards.
Dedicated and hard-working, the nurses make a real difference to patients’ lives. So we want to know whose exceptional care and compassion has touched your family.
The five categories are: nurse of the year, nursing team of the year, midwife of the year, children’s nurse of the year and healthcare assistant of the year.
All nominations will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of gynaecology cancer specialist nurse Suzanne Goralik, who was the winner of the main title when the competition was last held in 2013.
Susan Bowler, the trust’s executive director of nursing and quality, said: “It is important that we take time to reflect on the invaluable support and commitment of the nurses and midwives employed at King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton and Mansfield Community Hospital. Their compassionate care makes a world of difference at a time when patients are often at their most vulnerable.
“We want the public to help us celebrate these exceptional members of staff, for whom nursing is far more than just a profession. Local people can tell us their first-hand experiences of individuals whose thoughtful care and humanity have helped them on their road to recovery, or made a birth experience even more special.”
