Campaigners gather for 999 People’s March for the NHS in Mansfield

Protesters gathered in Mansfield town centre yesterday as part of the national 999 People’s March for the NHS march which is sweeping through the country.

The modern day Jarrow march will pass through Ashfield today (28th August) before moving on Hucknall later in the day.

To raise awareness of the cause, the ‘999 People’s March for the NHS’ will cover over 300 miles and travel through 23 towns and cities on its way to London, retracing the footsteps of the 207 marchers who marched from Jarrow to Parliament during the Great Depression.
