Hall-Fast Charity ball raises thousands of pounds for Mansfield’s Fountaindale School

More than 200 people attended the black tie, charity extravaganza at the John Fretwell Centre organised by Mansfield businessman Malk Hall.

He is spearheading a campaign to raise between £40-50,000 for Fountaindale to buy new equipment for its new building, which is expected to open later this year.

Mr Hall said the event had proved to be a huge success again.

Said Mr Hall: “It was a fantastic event that was attended by 240 people.

“We won’t know exactly how much was raised on the night for a few weeks but we hope it will get us close to our target of £50,000 raised for the Fountaindale School over the last 24 months.’’

The Nottingham Road school helps youngsters aged three to 19 with severe physical and sensory needs.

Mr Hall began his fundraising campaign almost two years ago and has taken part in a number of challenges, including a recent Coast to Coast bike ride with a team of local cyclists.

The second Hall-Fast Ball on Friday evening was presented by former Nottingham Forest and Mansfield Town footballer, Duncan McKenzie.

He was joined at the charity spectacular by former EastEnders actor and East Midlands Today weather presenter Des Coleman, who hosted an auction on the evening.

Musical entertainment was provided by The Marks Brothers, while the event also featured a host of charity party games.
