Gothic Bikers riding through

One hundred-and-fifty motorcyclists are taking to the streets of Mansfield raising money for a Spion Kop cat protection shelter.

The rideout is part of a rally weekend for Shirebrook-based motorcycle club the Gothic Bikers.

This will be Gothic Bikers’ second Living Dead Rally and will be held at their headquarters at the now disused Shirebrook Staff Sports and Social Club.

Spokesman Matt Gray (31), of Clipstone, said: “It is a full weekend from Friday to Sunday afternoon and will kick-off with some fun games.

“One is called Rally Virgins - where people get covered in eggs, flower and food slops to make sure they can have a laugh and take a joke.

“We are expecting a good turnout, with people coming from as far afield as Cambridge.

“One to look out for is my friend’s dirty rat trike. It is decorated with fake swords, daggers, crosses and rats.”

Gothic Bikers were spawned in a Warsop shop which went by the same name and have been going since 2013.

Matt expects to see between 200-250 bikers descend on the site to camp for the weekend of 22nd-24th August.

The site comes with full toilet and shower facilities and entertainment will include two bands and a fancy dress party on Saturday night. Food and drink will also be available.

Bikers taking part on the rideout will go from the Staff, along Chesterfield Road, through Mansfield Woodhouse then onto Mansfield Adoption Centre.
