Good Friday service in Bulwell

An open-air service for Good Friday, organised by Bulwell Churches Together, will take place on the busy Main Street pedestrian zone today, starting at 10.30am.

Weather pemitting, a highlight will be a drama with puppets, presented by Jo Gray and Denise Winwood, of St John’s Church. There will be prayers and a reading while hymns will include ‘There Is A Green Hill’.

“We will be delighted if shoppers can spare a short time to join in with us,” said main organiser Jillian Naylor.

A cross and banner will be carried on a parade to the town centre, starting from St John’s Church at about 10am, and they will afterwards be taken to St Mary’s Church.
