Every year, thousands of firefighters are injured whilst protecting the public. Every 30 seconds in the UK, firefighters are called to an incident putting their lives on the line, and often sustaining physical injuries whilst carrying out their duties.

By providing pioneering treatment and support services, The Fire Fighters Charity is there for firefighters during their times of need.

In the last five years, more than 300 NFRS personnel have received intervention through the charity’s centre based rehabilitation, recuperation, child and family programmes or the community based support.

For the charity to continue to support as many individuals as possible, it is essential that its income each year – from voluntary donations and fundraising events – matches the cost of delivering their services. NFRS staff play a significant part in helping to ensure this, by hosting various fundraising events throughout the year. Events include car washes, open days, pantomimes, Chief’s Challenges, bucket collections plus many more. More than £500,000 has been raised in the past five years.

So how is your money spent?
