Hucknall Leisure Centre will be hosting a sponsored swim event for Sport Relief.
The World’s Biggest Swim, hosted by Everyone Active who run leisure centres in Ashfield and Hucknall, will host the event as part of The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Swimathon.
Individuals or teams wishing to take part can do so at Hucknall Leisure Centre on Sunday 23rd March or Lammas Leisure Centre from 21st to 23rd March.
The event is in aid of Sport Relief, which supports Comic Relief, the charity that fights poverty in the UK and abroad.
Individuals can choose to swim 1.5km (0.9 miles), 2.5km (1.6 miles) or 5km (3.1 miles) and there are team challenges of 1.5km or 5km.
The Swimthon is backed by Olympic swimmer Duncan Goodhew and Paralympic gold medallist, Ellie Simmonds.
Everyone Active contract manager, Simon Fearn, said, “This is a fantastic way to bring our community together. People of all ages and abilities can take part and it’s a great opportunity to raise money for charity.”
