Gainsborough crash leaves Worksop man in hospital

A man from Worksop has been left hospitalised following a road accident in Gainsborough yesterday (September 24).

The 50-year-old was driving on the A631 Somerby when his Ford Fiesta van collided with a lorry.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “The driver was seriously injured and taken to hospital for treatment where he remains this morning.

“The lorry driver was not injured.”

Both vehicles were travelling towards Gainsborough and the road was closed at Corringham for a number of hours following the collision.

Police are appealing for anybody who witnessed the incident, which took place just after 5pm.
