Funeral held into tragic teenager
The 16-year-old died following a collision between his motorbike and a Ford Transit van at the junction of Shaw Crescent and Robin Hood Drive on the afternoon of Wednesday, 29 July.
Known to friends and fmaily as ‘Cheek’, he was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre where he died two days later.

Hide AdMeanwhile, residents unofficially changed the name of the street where he died on the corner to ‘Cheek Cannon’s Corner’ this week.
Campaigners are now calling on council bosses to rename Robin Hood Drive as a lasting memorial.
Campaigner Lisa Bird said: “We think the road name should be changed to Cheek Cannon’s Corner - that’s what it will be known as from now on anyway.
“This community pulls together no matter what. We are proud to live on the Ruffs estate.”
