Fashion designer and former dance champion Kiley Evans organised the event which saw some of her creations - which have been seen on superstars such as Jessie J and Alesha Dixon - being modelled by world champion dancers.

Kiley (28), who lives in Hucknall and has set up her business in Bulwell, said the fashion dance showdown went really well, with people travelling from all over the country to see the dancers perform.

“A lot of people were surprised that this kind of thing was happening in Kirkby and not in the city,” said Kiley, who studied fashion in Nottingham after moving to Nottinghamshire from her native Swansea.

Kiley designs and makes bespoke fashion and jewellery and creates a lot of dance costumes for dancers to wear in competitions.

Her fashion and dance show featured modern line dancing performances with one part having a theme of Rodeo Carousel, the second part a Rio Carnival theme and the third part a High School Fair theme.

“I enjoy making and enjoy dancing and thought I would do something fun,” Kiley added.

“It was a lot of hard work doing all the event and making the outfits but it was a fun evening.”
