Fresh police appeal into the death of Sutton airman Andrew Hallam

Senior Aircraftman Andrew Hallam, 23, was killed when he was hit by a green BMW 330i on the southbound carriageway near Wittering at about 1.47am on 25th May.

Mr Hallam, of Kenilworth Avenue, was based at RAF Wittering.

Police believe Mr Hallam may have been travelling from Stamford with a Peterborough taxi firm and had just been dropped off when he was hit.

Coroner David Heming opened an inquest into his death earlier this month and gave the cause as multiple injuries to the chest, abdomen, pelvis and limbs.

PC Wayne Softley, from the Cambridgshire Constabulary collision investigation unit, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who knows how Andrew got from Stamford to Wittering, particularly any taxi driver who may have dropped him off.”
