“There is a process which involves a report being written, a discussion at Labour Group, then agreement at a Cabinet Meeting followed by a period of notification, using various media outlets, plus the necessary changes to signage etc.

“At our cabinet meeting on Thursday October 8, our car parking pledge will be officially discussed and a decision made.

“This means the likely implementation date will be late November\early December 2015 in time for Christmas shopping.

“I look forward, as I’m sure many Ashfield residents will, to this pledge becoming a reality.”

“Over the summer we introduced our very successful Free Swimming programme to children and young people,” she said. “We have also started working on our Cleaner Streets pledge by agreeing changes in policy on dog fouling fines.”
