A free festive brunch is to be served in Mansfield on Boxing Day for the local community
Queen Elizabeth’s Academy, in Chesterfield Road South, is serving food with festive music for anyone who may be grateful of support and friendship on the day.
The doors to the main hall at the academy will be open between 11am and 3pm and members of staff and some parents of students will be giving up their time.
Principal Helena Brothwell said: “The academy’s role and position within the local community is very important to us, and we are always looking at ways in which we can give something back.

"We particularly want to extend this invitation to anyone who may be alone or not able to spend time with other family at this time of year.

"We see Queen Elizabeth’s and the community we serve as a family, and hope that we can help to put smiles on people’s faces as they spend time in our wonderful academy this Christmas time."
She added: "We are still on the lookout for any local businesses who may be able to support us by donating food, crackers, hats or simply their time.
"This is a great opportunity to do something positive this festive period and to support this fabulous community within Mansfield – I would be delighted to speak with anyone who can help."
