A Forest Town man has been fined for dumping bags of rubbish on Bungalow Lane in Bilsthorpe.

David Moore, 66, of Whaley Bridge Close, was seen tipping the bags which contained gravel, soil and rubble as well as broken pieces of fence panel and fence posts.

Newark and Sherwood District Council received a call from a member of the public who had witnessed him dumping the rubbish.

They provided the council with the registration number of the vehicle used which allowed a waste officer to track down Mr Moore and interview him under caution.

Mr Moore made a full admission that the vehicle was his and his responsibility and that he was the one who dumped the rubbish.

He was made top pay out £333 in fines and costs.
