Forest Town funeral directors WS Ingham donate £785 to Chad’s MRI Scanner Appeal

DARREN Shaw, Tony Ingham and John Marriott, of Forest Town Funeral company WS Ingham and Sons Ltd, are pictured donating £600 to Chad editor Tracy Powell on behalf of our life-changing MRI Scanner Appeal.

The Poplar Grove firm raised the money, which has since risen to £785 following a number of late donations, by holding their annual memorial tree initiative.

The scheme involves tags being sent out to customers to be placed on the tree with a memorial message to their loved ones. Customers can then donate into a nearby collection box if they wish.

Speaking after the presentation, Mr Ingham said they had been delighted to show their support to Chad’s ambitious appeal.

“Over the last few years we have donated the money to charity and we felt like the MRI Scanner Appeal was the perfect place for the money to go,” he said. “A new scanner is needed and this is a local charity. We are delighted with how much was raised.”

The gift is the latest in a number of donations to have flooded in for our appeal’s coffers in recent weeks, with Huthwaite Tandoori donating £1,000 from a charity meal night.

Nearly £2,000 was also raised during the latest monthly raffle at King’s Mill Hospital, while a £426 donation was also handed over last week following a successful charity spin-a-thon event involving teams from Chad, Mansfield 103.2, King’s Mill Hospital, West Notts College and Mansfield Town.
