Forensics involved with Mansfield drink driver

A drink-driver whose test results were sent for forensic analysis has been banned from the road for two years.

Edgaras Zutavtas, 28, of Howard Road, Mansfield had crashed a Mercedes Sprinter on his road after saying he was fiddling with the radio.

He was found to have 82 mcgs of alcohol in 100 mls of breath. The legal limit is 35 mcgs.

He told police he had three cans of lager, but following discrepancies over exactly when he had the drinks in relation to the timing of the crash, forensics became involved.

However, it was found that he had been over the limit at the time he was driving.

Admitting the charge, of drinking while above the alcohol limit, he was also fined £400 and made to pay £125 in costs.
