PEOPLE are being urged to take care following numerous reports of localised flooding throughout the area.

A flood warning has been put in place by the Environment Agency for low lying agricultural land and roads in the Mansfield area and surrounding towns and villages.

This includes The Sherwood Forest Caravan Park at Clipstone, Edwinstowe and Ollerton.

It reports that the current level at The Dykes river gauge at Mansfield Woodhouse was just short of 0.5 metres yesterday but was expected to peak at 1.4 metres by 5.45am this morning (Sunday), with further rainfall expected over the next three days.

Meanwhile, there have been problems reported on the A60 Church Road in Warsop, near the B6031 Bishops Walk junction, with flooding across the road.

The fire service reported ‘numerous’ calls overnight and people are being urged to contact the public flood line on 08459 881188.
