Five teenagers arrested after man attacked in Kirkby

Five teenagers have been arrested after a man was attacked in Kirkby.

Police were called to reports of an assault in Spruce Grove on Wednesday, April 18, at about 8.50pm.

A 26-year-old man had been attacked by a group of men and boys and chased with a metal pole.

A police spokesman said his injuries were not believed to be serious, but he attended hospital as a precaution.

A 19-year-old, two 14-year-olds and three 16-year-olds have been arrested.

Four have been released under investigation and one released without charge.

The 19-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs and remains in police custody.
