Five fire crews deal with inferno at apartment building in Derbyshire village
Five fire crews from across the region were called to a deal with a burning apartment building last night.
Firefighters from Staveley, Bolsover, Shirebrook, Derbyshire and Worksop attended a blaze at a flat in High Street, Clowne, at just after 8.30pm.
Initial reports suggested people were inside but a spokesman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said nobody was there and they instead rescued a cat and a dog from the scene.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel water jets to put the blaze out.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
