First time overseas in nearly 70 years

Nuthall Scouts are planning a trip abroad for the first time since the group was established 68 years ago.
Nottinghamshire’s longest established Scout group plan to visit Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland next year.
Each Scout must raise £400.
Since its inception in 1947 the 1st Nuthall Scout group has been represented at scores of events across Great Britain, but never abroad.
Scouts launched the fundraising challenge by holding a table top sale at the Temple Centre.

This will be followed by bag packing at Morrisons in Eastwood in December and a sponsored hike from Derby to Nottingham.

Fundraising co-ordinator Samantha Brown said: “There is an air of excitement about this venture and everyone is making a special effort.”
