First finalists for Mansfield's Got Talent are revealed

It's not too late to compete in this year's Mansfield's Got Talent competition for a £1,000 prize!

The first seven finalists in the Heats of Mansfield's Got Talent have been revealed, including

The competition, run by Carol Newton and Ron Fazey in aid of the Air Ambulance, is seeing dozens of performers take to stages around the area to compete for a spot at the Grand Final, set for May 5 at the Forest Town Arena.

Organiser, Carol Newton, said: We are desperately in need of more acts to enter, with all ages and abilities in singing, dancing, musicians, bands, groups - and amateurs only please.

"I do not know of any other local organisation or competition that offers £1000 in prize money to amateur entrants to raise money for charity."

Prize money is raised seperately to donations, by selling Football Scratch Card tickets at the venues.

Co-organiser Ron Fazey, said: "So far we've raised £2,011 from bucket collections at the Stags and entry fees to take part in the heats.

"People can still join the heats to compete in this year's competition - heat number 6 is on Saturday."

To enter simply turn up to the heats, £5 entree fee per act (not per person) is donated to the Notts and Lincs Air Ambulance.
