Firms needed at careers event

Ashfield School is looking for local businesses to take part in its next careers day and help its students learn more about the options available to them when they leave school.

Year 11 students will be attending the event on 23rd April, which is this time focusing on apprenticeships.

It is being organised by the school’s careers co-ordinator Sam Fryer, and there is still room for more businesses to come along.

Miss Fryer said: “Following on from the phenomenal success of the Careers Fair we ran before Christmas, we are now focusing on the amazing opportunities available to young people through the apprenticeship scheme.

“A growing number of companies are offering apprenticeships and we want to make sure that our students know exactly what’s involved and what prospective employers are looking for.

“The best way to do this is to get businesses into school, talking to students and answering their questions.”

Any businesses interested in taking part should contact Miss Fryer on Mansfield 455000.
