Now the company is celebrating after becoming an approved supplier of defibrillators, which aid resuscitation during cardiac arrest.

“As far as I’m aware, we are the first business in the area to get approval to distribute these defibrillators and we believe it is an important step forward,” said director Paul Sear.

“If you have a heart attack and a defibrillator is on hand, your chances of survival climbs from seven per cent to 50 per cent.

“If your heart stops for more than five minutes you are likely to suffer brain damage, but if you can get a machine there within four minutes, then people very often make a full recovery.

“It really can make all the difference and if it saves one life, it is surely worth it.”

Paul hopes to set up a first response team in Meden Vale and interested volunteers should call 01623 846809.
