Firefighters tackle overnight vehicle blaze in Mansfield

Firefighters from Mansfield Fire Station tackled an overnight vehicle blaze in Mansfield which was believed to have been started deliberately.

Crews were called to the blaze on Epsom Street, near Racecourse Park, Mansfield, at around 1.50am on Monday morning (December 10).

Nobody was injured in the fire, which was extinguished quickly by the firefighters who left the scene within half an hour.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "A crew from Mansfield was called to the scene of a vehicle fire on Epsom Street, Mansfield at around 1.50am.

"Two hose reels were used by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

"No one was injured but the vehicle was heavily damaged. The fire is believed to have been set deliberately.

"Firefighters had left the scene by 2.20am."
