FIREFIGHTERS have been battling for more than 17 hours to put out a large tree and grass fire in Annesley Woodhouse.
Crews were called out to a blaze on land off Weavers Lane at around 5.10pm on Tuesday.
Fire engines from across the county, Nottingham City and over the border in Derbyshire, have all been in attendance at the scene.
The area affected is around 300m by 200m large.
Water carriers were needed to try and get water to the remote spot and firefighters used hose reels and beaters to help extinguish the flames.
The fire was still burning by Wednesday lunchtime.
