Firefighters put out church basement blaze


Fire crews were called to a Nottinghamshire church on Saturday, November 18.

Firefighters from Ashfield and Mansfield fire stations, were sent to the blaze on Albert Street in Stanton Hill, near Sutton.

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 11.59am, we attended a fire at a building in Albert Street.

"This was a fire in a basement of a church. We used a hose reel jet to put it out.

"Both appliances were on scene for 20 minutes and the stop message was received at 12.40pm."
