Fire service launch investigation after Glossop house fire

Firefighters are monitoring a blaze-damaged Glossop home after it went up in flames.

The fire was discovered about 4.40pm, on Thursday, February 12, on Ashton Street, Glossop.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “One domestic property in a row of detached houses was affected by fire and smoke on both floors.”

Firefighters used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet and a Cobra lance power water jet to extinguish the blaze.

Crews were damping down the blaze about 6.10pm, last night.

The fire service alerted police about the fire and an investigation is being launched today to establish the exact cause.

Other media sources stated that a 51-year-old man had been taken to hospital after the fire.
