Fire at Notts care home

Firefighters were called to a Worksop care home last night (March 29).

Crews from Worksop and Edwinstow attended the Victoria Care Home in Worksop just after 7pm to reports of a building fire.

They discovered the fire was on the second floor and used two hose reel jets to extinguish before 8pm.

No one was injured.

Hugh Prior, Compliance Manager for Dukeries Health Care said: "The fire was in one room, damage consisted of one bed and nobody was injured or suffered smoke inhalation. Staff were praised by the firefighters for their prompt reactions. Residents in associated rooms have moved and police wish to carry out a forensic investigation."
