Find out where can you see Santa in Nottinghamshire this Christmas

Ho-ho-hold onto your sleighs because Santa Claus is coming to town and we’ve got our list (and we’ve checked it twice) of where you can find the main man this Christmas.

With more winter wonderlands than you can shake a stick at, we are sure you will find a grotto near you.

Ruddington

For something a bit different why not head out to Santa Specials at Great Central done at the Railway Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre. The steam train trips are running from Saturday 28 November until 20th December plus Christmas Eve , all children receive a quality gift during their journey and everyone will receive seasonal refreshments. Booking is essential so do not delay as the Santa trains are popular and do get booked in advance. Prices vary £10 to £18. More information is available here

The Christmas Spectacular at Sundown Adventureland, Treswell Road, includes a pre-booked Santa visit on the magical night before Christmas ride and also free access all day to all the other park’s rides and attractions. Santa’s reindeer will also be making an appearance between Saturday, November 21 and Christmas Eve. A full timetable is available here

Ollerton

Santa’s Grotto at Rufford Abbey Country Park is open Saturday, November 21 to Wednesday, December 23, 10am to 4pm, weekends only except 21-23 December. £5 entry, which includes a small gift.

Worksop

Father Christmas’ Magical House at Clumber Park gives children to join Mrs Christmas for storytime and have a photograph taken with Father Christmas. Write a letter to the man in red explore his workshop, check your name in his naughty and nice book and make Rudolph food to take home for Christmas eve. Charges apply. Stapleford

In Walter Parker VC Memorial Square on Saturday, November 21 there will be events all day between 10am and 6pm Santa’s Grotto, will be open from 1.00pm until 6.00pm, at Shabbylicious Vintage Tea Rooms, on 166 Derby Road, Stapleford. There will be signage directing from the Square to the Grotto during the day and you can decorate your own cookie at the venue. The switch on event and fireworks display, starts at 6.30pm.

Eastwood

Christmas is officially launched in Eastwood town at the annual Christmas Lights Switch on event on Tuesday 24th November from 6.00pm until 8.00pm in Eastwood Town Square. Nottingham Road will be closed from 6-9pm from Plumptre Way to the Mansfield Road junction.

Retford

Christmas Market and Light Switch-On marks the start of Christmas in Retford. Live entertainment throughout the day, featuring Santa and his little helper switching on the lights at 5pm on Sunday, November 29.
