Generous Chad readers and Asda shoppers are helping make children’ lives better this Christmas time.
As part of our joint campaign with the supermarket giant, lots of gifts have already been donated as part of the been donated.
Chad teamed up with Asda stores in Sutton and Forest Town at the end of last month, and trollies full of gifts have been donated.
These gifts will be given to families and children who may not otherwise get a present.
Sue Derbyshire, Community Life Champion at the store on Old Mill Lane said: “It’s been a great start, one man brought in one big bag of teddies which was fantastic. I hope it continues.”
“A donated gift could cost as little as a few pounds, which would not necessarily make a difference to your purse or wallet, but would make a world of difference to a child and their family during the festive season.”
The last day to donate a gift if 18th December when they will be wrapped and taken to Sure Start Children’s centres including Summer House in Sutton and Ravensdale in Mansfield. Gifts will also be donated to home Start centres. Karon Foulkes, children’s services manager for Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “Sure Start Children’s Centres, as part of the services provided, support families who are struggling with low incomes, who are experiencing isolation or may have a child with a disability.”
