The Christmas countdown began at Edwinstowe on Thursday when the Christmas lights were switched on during an evening of festive entertainment.
Hundreds turned out on High Street where there was plenty of fun to be had with fairground rides, a brass band belting out Christmas carols, children’s activities, live reindeer, plenty of tasty festive food to help the revellers keep the cold out, and of course, the man of the moment, Father Christmas.
Organised by Edwinstowe Parish Council, chairman Celia Brooks said: “It was absolutely packed, it was the best attended we’ve ever had and you could not move on the high street.
“It was hugely successful and a great time was had by all. We were all impressed by it and we are used to them!
“A big thank you needs to go to the parish council staff who sorted everything out and organised the stalls and road closures.”
