Family's appeal over Derbyshire man missing for more than a week

The family of missing Codnor man Trevor Needham are appealing to the public to only contact police, and not them personally, with information about the missing 68-year-old.

Mr Needham left his home in Codnor at about 9.45am on Wednesday, April 4, and was due to visit Swanwick, but never arrived. It is now known that he visited Darley Abbey Mills on the afternoon of April 4, but he has not been seen since.

He was wearing black trousers, black steel toe cap boots and a green Mountain Warehouse jacket. He also had a blue rucksack with him.

He is about 6ft, of medium build, with short, dark brown hair and glasses.

DC Richard Marshall said: “Our concerns for Mr Needham’s welfare are high and we are appealing for anyone who might have seen him to get in touch with us urgently.

“I’d also like to appeal to members of the public to respect the privacy of Mr Needham’s family at this extremely difficult time.

“I appreciate that people wish to assist in our search for Mr Needham, but the best way to do that is to please only report information about his disappearance to the police.

“Anyone who recognises the description of Trevor Needham or who has any information should call 101 and quote incident 549 of April 4.”
