Family pet dog dies in Mansfield house fire

A dog has died in a Mansfield house fire which is still burning.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service are still at the scene of the fire on Ruddington Court, Bellamy Estate.

The family pet died in the fire today, Friday, November 30, the cause of the fire is still unknown.

Residents are being asked to avoid the area.

A fire and rescue spokesman said: "Please avoid the area if possible as traffic delays are building, and keep doors and windows closed due to smoke in the area.

"This has been described as a serious fire, and firefighters are working to extinguish remaining pockets of fire. Four breathing apparatus, two jets, and two hose reels are in use and a fire investigation will take place to determine the cause of the fire."

Firefighters from Hucknall, Arnold, Edwinstowe and Warsop responded to the fire at.

Nottinghamshire Police are also at the scene now.
