Family fear stillborn tot will not have a headstone after public appeal fails

The Brazier family from Church Warsop recently buried Tiger-Tallulah Lucie-Marie, who was born after 27 weeks, weighing just 2lb 2oz.

It is the second tot that 26-year-old Chantelle Brazier-Bennett had lost, having delivered a stillborn baby in 2007.

Her mother, Yvonne, also suffered the same tragedy in 2009.

The family have now been trying to raise the £1,700 for a headstone for Tiger-Tallulah, having set up a Go Fund Me page online and appealing to the public.

However, only a few close friends and family have pledged support and the total sits at just £142, plus money that the family have scraped together.

“We have had nothing at all,” said 46-year-old Yvonne, who has herself helped fundraise for various charities around the region.

“A few people had said they saw the article in the Chad, but nobody has offered to help.

“I think we might just have to give up.

“I have done all this work in the past to help others, and people just don’t seem to care.

“How would anyone feel if this happened to them?

The headstone for Tiger-Tallulah has been ordered, and they have around 14 weeks to find the money to cover the cost, or Chantelle’s baby could be without a headstone.

“To be quite honest, I don’t think we will get to that total now, but we’ll have to see.”
