Fake letter box scam warning for residents
Residents in Ashfield are being warned about fake letter boxes being attached to properties as part of a new scam.
Fraudsters are attaching the boxes to homes where the occupiers are away in an effort to get access to their mail and obtain personal details.
Police say there had been an incident in the area which mail had been stolen from a property to with a view to committing fraud.
People are being advised to check all mail through their door and report any suspicious activities.
