More than 60 summer jobs are to be created at a factory in Forest Town this summer.
Schoolblazer need the staff to cope with seasonal demand at their warehouse on Fletchers Way on the Crown Farm Industrial Estate.
From May to September, lockstitch machinists are required along with general factory workers.
Machinists who have a basic knowledge of sewing will be able to attend a week-long training school with pay to develop their skills before starting the job for real.
However, with the company continuing to grow, it is hoped that there will be opportunity for longer term of more permanent roles.
The firm has brought in recruitment agency, Essential Recruitment, to help fill the vacancies.
Marc Orli, operations manager at the agency, said: “After such poor economic times over the recent years it is a pleasure to consult with an independent company’s growth and as such, provide a large number of local employment opportunities.
“The demise of the textiles industry over the last few decades in the Mansfield area has seen some lost expertise.
“It is encouraging that company’s such as Schoolblazer is once again utilising the skills available and furthermore training for the future.
“We are very proud to have been selected by Schoolblazer as their preferred partner.”
Established in 2004, Schoolblazer creates and supplies school uniforms to select schools around the country.
Due to the nature of the product, the summer period is a busy time for the business as parents get their children’s uniforms for the new school year in September.
Sean Ryan, operations manager at Schoolblazer, said: “We plan to grow between 10 per cent to 15 per cent so our growth can only benefit the employment rate in Nottinghamshire in the foreseeable and long term future”
Machinist candidates need only very basic experience, while none is required for the general warehouse work.
