Eyes down for a charity bingo epic from Yvette

Animal charity fund raiser Yvette Price-Mear has completed a marathon tour of 14 Mecca Bingo clubs in just seven days for the ultimate Bingo-a-Thon.

She stopped at a different club every afternoon and every evening, raising more £1,000 for Pet Bereavement Support during National Pet Month.

Yvette, from Mansfield Woodhouse, travelled almost 650 miles on the trip.

She said: “Pet Bereavement Support is very important and offers befriending and support to bereaved pet owners nationwide.

“This can be a particularly distressing time and usually counselling has a cost.

“The money raised by this Bingo-a-Thon will be used to provide free support to help people in the community.”

The charity celebrated its 25th anniversary on May 5, the last night of Yvette’s epic feat.

The trip was sponsored by John and Rita Harbury-Carlisle, owners of the Nottingham Pet Crematorium, whon donated £300 to cover petrol and hotel costs.

Mecca Bingo also donated the Bingo books and food.
