Administered by the Lincolnshire Community Foundation, it is open to victims of the November 2019 flooding throughout Nottinghamshire, particularly in the north of the county.

The scheme was set up to distribute funds raised via a local appeal, set up to raise money for people whose homes were affected by flooding in November 2019.

The Government gave a commitment to match fund whatever was raised locally and has now released these sums.

Already, £34,000 has already been allocated to support families and individuals affected by the flooding and both they, and new applicants, are encouraged to apply.

Grants of £500 are available, although larger amounts can be considered.

The fund re-opened on July 7 and is expected to close on July 31.

Applicants will be notified of a decision within 14 days of the closing date.

Priority may be given to those who are eligible, but have yet to receive support.

Sue Fortune, joint chief executive of the Lincolnshire Community Foundation said: “We’re pleased to confirm Government match funding has been received and, as social distancing guidelines have been relaxed, we would like to visit Worksop to help those who need support completing application forms.

“We’ve been mindful that those in most need may have been self isolating/shielding during the lockdown period and wanted to ensure everyone affected was given the chance to apply.”
