Mansfield District Council residents have been receiving leaflets on how the authority will be implementing its new garden waste (brown bin) scheme from 1st April.
As part of the scheme, which now costs £25 per year, collections will be introduced on a monthly basis during winter (November to February) and will continue to be collected fortnightly for the rest of the year.
However, in order to maintain the scheme and roll it out to the 6,500 households who have previously not been able to access it, a charge of £25 per year will be introduced, which is less than 50p a week.
Leaflets are being distributed this week to all households who have already had the service. It will detail how to sign up to the scheme, which can be done in one of three ways:
