END OF AN ERA: Looking back at the demolition of Mansfield Brewery

The brewery closed in 2001 after 146 years of production with the buildings on the site being demolished several years later.

And now the site has been earmarked as a potential housing site as part of Mansfield District Council’s Local Plan. See more on the local plan here.

The video footage of the chimney demolition was captured by the Chad in 2008 but it’s got us thinking about how much the town has changed over the years.

And we want to know what you miss most about Mansfield from years gone by? Perhaps it was a favourite business which has closed down, or a building which has since been demolished.
