It is likely to be a close-fought battle of the leading candidates from the two main political parties.

Conservative Mark Spencer is taking on his Labour opponent in the shape of Leonie Mathers.

It was a close call in the 2010 General Election when Mr Spencer took the seat from Labour after long-standing MP Paddy Tipping had taken himself out of the ring and a new candidate was brought in for the reds.

Five years ago it was a slim win for Tory blue here in Sherwood and it is predicted, if exit polls prove accurate, it could be the same again tonight.
