EDWINSTOWE: Crash driver still in serious condition

A motorist seriously injured in a road collision on Boxing Day remains in a serious condition, police conformed today (Wednesday 16th January).

The driver, identified on social media as Andrew Duffill, was driving a red Honda Civic along the A6075 Mansfield Road at around 3.30am on 26th December when the incident occurred.

Police said Mr Duffill had been driving from the Forest Town area in the direction of Edwinstowe when it is understood that his vehicle was in collision with a tree.

Mr Duffill, a former student at Southwell’s Minster School and West Nottinghamshire College, works at the Cafe Rouge restaurant at the Center Parcs resort.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman told Chad that he remains in intensive care in a serious condition.

The passenger in the vehicle at the time of the collision is understood to be his Center Parcs colleague, chef Matthias Elliott, from Edwinstowe, who was not seriously injured.

Speaking at the time of the crash, a Center Parcs spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with Andy and we hope that he makes a full and speedy recovery”
