Following on from Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, students at West Nottinghamshire College’s BAY6 Centre and coffee bar have presented their bumper cheque to Nottinghamshire Fundraising Manager Helena Monk.

A total of £226.08 was raised at the event in September through coffee and cake sales, tombolas and nail painting at the centre on Woodhouse Road, Mansfield.

On receiving the cheque, Helena said: “I’m delighted at this donation and the students have exceeded last year’s total. They’ve helped to bring in over £200k for this area to date.

“They should be so proud not only for the amount of money raised but for bringing the local community to their venue and helping to raise awareness of their fundraising day.”
