Year six students are being offered the chance to design a structure or working area on a currently unused piece of land in The Manor Academy.

The pupils will work alongside architects to design the product with the theme being ‘work, rest or play’.

The student whose design is chosen as the winner by a panel will win a Junior Enterprise Award as well as attending an awards ceremony at Mansfield Civic Centre.

The year 6 students will visit the unused area of land before meeting up with architects who will upload their design ideas into 3D plans on computers.

A panel will then choose the winning design which will be built on the grass with permission of Academy Head teacher Jonathon Hickman.

Some suggestions for what could be built on the land include revision pods, quiet areas and even a human sized chess board.
