CRESCENT Primary School at Mansfield remains closed today (Tuesday) after a fire on Sunday in the boiler room.

Fire crews from Mansfield and Ashfield were called to Crescent Primary School, on Booth Crescent, at around 7.20am on Sunday morning after a fire broke out in the boiler room and five tonnes of wood chippings had caught fire.

The school suffered smoke damage and remains closed so that it can be cleaned.

A statement on the school’s website says: “Please note the whole school will be closed on Tuesday 30th. We will hopefully be able to re-open Wednesday 31st but will confirm this on Tuesday.”
