A vision for volunteering

Students at Vision West Notts will learn about the benefits of volunteering through a series of awareness-raising sessions at the Derby Road campus this week.

College staff and representatives from organisations will be explaining how students can get involved in a range of volunteering activities, both locally and internationally, and really make a difference to communities.

Students will be able to apply to join the college’s next overseas volunteering project – a visit to Ghana in the summer – following previous visits in 2009 and 2010 when students and staff worked with children at a school and orphanage, and helped build a classroom.

The college’s learner coaches will explain how students can combine volunteering with studying, and a litter-pick organised by the Students’ Union today.
