East Midlands Designer Outlet sees record-breaking sales over the Christmas period

Two days before Christmas saw an increase of 29 per cent in sales - with the centre’s footfall reaching an increase of 65 per cent on last year.

Savvy customers flocked to the outlet to make the most of the additional savings from Boxing Day onwards, with the outlet offering savings on more than 70 brands.

New Year’s Day saw a strong, record breaking trading day at the outlet, with sales at a 34 per cent increase and a 26 per cent rise to last year in centre footfall.

Shoppers made the most of the centre’s festive offerings and post-Christmas savings, with the outlet seeing a significant double figure sale rise in multiple product categories.

Sales of formal clothing were increased by 17 per cent and sales of casual clothing by 13 per cent.

Said Mike Thomas, interim centre manager: “We aim to offer our customers the best shopping experience possible prior and post-Christmas, with our vast variety of gifting options and our unbeatable reductions following the festive season.

“Our double figure sale increases on the 23rd and 24th of December and 1st January show that our customer took full advantage of the sales prior and following Christmas Day.”
