Eakring Youth group - Held a curry and quiz night Saturday week in the Cator Hall, to raise funds for the group.

St Andrews Church - Morning Praise Sunday week was led by Lay Reader Heather Brown who preached and led prayers. Readings were by Malcolm Goodall and Lucy White. Organist was Lucy White. Refreshments were served afterwards by Sue Wilson and Malcolm Goodall.

Christmas Donations - The collection from the Carol service and the Christingle service were included in donations of £200 to Newark Food Bank and £200 to the Church of England Children’s Society. The Salvation Army also received £500 from the Christmas Toy appeal. Many thanks to all who supported St Andrew’s Church throughout the year.

Bilsthorpe - Green Centre - Chairman David Ramsdale welcomed members to Tuesday weeks meeting. Raffle winners were David Ramsdale and Betty Marshall. Members were welcomed to Friday weeks meeting. Raffle winners were Joan Wall and Lil Cottrill. Refreshments were served by committee members David Ramsdale and Celia Smith who was bingo caller for both sessions.

Short Mat Bowls - Eight members attended the session held Thursday week in the Village Hall. Winner of the raffle prize was Danny.

Over 50s Club - Chairman David Ramsdale welcomed49 members to the meeting, held Wednesday week in the Welfare. Dance MC was Dennis Knight and bingo caller was David Ramsdale. Refreshments were served by Marion Sentence. Members joined in a horse racing theme game arranged by Marion Sentence, Katie Towle and Graham Vardy. A general knowledge quiz arranged by Bill Lamb was won by Alan Higgins. Winners of the chocolate dance were Fred and Jacqueline Brown. 23 raffle prizes were won. Winners are as follows: Carol Bird, Sheryl Bird, Sheila Cordon, Marion Sentence, John Booth, Jean Jarvis, Margaret Lamb, Ian Roberts, Connie Roberts, Brenda Wilderspin, Jacqueline Brown, Fred Brown, Ruth Vardy, Marni Shah, David Ramsdale, Colin Dodsworth, Janet Knight, Gillian Hattersley and Janet Callaghan.

Burton Court Centre - Chairman Sandra Morton welcomed 15 members to Tuesday weeks meeting. Raffle winners were Kath Taylor and Mavis Smith. Eighteen members were welcomed to Thursday weeks meeting. Raffle winner was Celia Smith. Refreshments were served by committee members and helpers. Bingo callers were Sandra Morton and Ann Hutchison.

St Margaret’s Church - Holy Communion service Sunday week was led by he Rev’d Margaret Groves, who preached and led prayers and intercessions. Hospitality greeter was Jacqueline Brown. Reader was Tony Cumberlidge and Richard Groves read the gospel. Elements were taken up to the Altar by Bill and Geraldine Luke, and Jenny Elston helped with distribution.

The offertory was taken by Jacqueline Brown. Sunday school was supervised by Karon Bonser, and children sang a prayer. Refreshments were served afterwards by Sandra Burrows and Sienna Stokoe. Organist was Derek Reaney.
