A drug dealer with Sutton links has been jailed for seven years

A drug dealer with links to Sutton has been jailed for seven years after being found in a kitchen with a stash of heroin.

Andrew Frain, 28, of Cyril Avenue, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and possession of cannabis.

He was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday 17 December 2014 after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing.

Investigation and intelligence work by Vanguard officers linked Frain to an address in Outram Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield.Vanguard is an ongoing campaign to tackle drug dealing and associated organised crime.

On 29 October 2014 officers carried out a warrant at the address and found Frain naked in the kitchen next to the cooker.

In the cupboard next to the cooker there was a white carrier bag containing brown powder, later found to be heroin, and a wrap of powder. Further searches revealed more heroin under a bed. Just under ½ kilo was discovered in total.Police also found cannabis on the worktop next to the cooker and bedroom.He was arrested.

Police Constable Steve Fenyn said: “The message could not be clearer: if you deal in drugs in Nottinghamshire you will be caught.”Frain was given a seven prison sentence for the offences.

PC Fenyn added: “This result is testament to the tireless work of a very dedicated team of officers. It also reflects the dim view taken by the criminal justice system of people who infect our communities with controlled drugs and perpetuate the further crime inevitably stemming from them.”
